ISO 22301:2019 — Quick Summary

ISO 22301:2019 is the international standard for Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS). It provides a structured framework for organisations to plan, establish, implement, and continually improve their capability to protect against, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptive incidents — cyberattacks, natural disasters, supply chain failures, or infrastructure outages. London Cert Ltd conducts the audit directly, and your certificate is issued with genuine IAF accreditation through our accredited certification partner.

What Does ISO 22301 Actually Require?

ISO 22301 doesn't just ask you to write a disaster recovery document and file it away. It requires a live, tested management system built around a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) — identifying which of your business activities are critical, how quickly they must be recovered, and what resources they depend on — followed by documented continuity strategies, incident response plans, and a mandatory exercising and testing programme. Auditors expect evidence that plans have actually been tested, not just written; a plan that has never been exercised is treated as an assumption, not a capability.

Like ISO 9001, 14001, and 27001, ISO 22301 uses the Harmonized Structure, so integrating it with an existing ISO 27001 ISMS (particularly relevant for IT/cyber-driven disruption scenarios) is straightforward and reduces duplicated governance.

💡 Studies consistently find that around 1 in 5 organisations experience a significant business disruption every year. ISO 22301 certification converts "we think we could recover" into an audited, evidenced capability.

ISO 22301 and RBI/SEBI Business Continuity Expectations

India's financial regulators have steadily tightened business continuity expectations. RBI's IT Governance framework (effective since April 2024) requires banks and NBFCs to maintain Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) that are tested periodically — and these obligations extend to their service providers and outsourcing partners too, not just the regulated entity itself. NBFCs above the ₹500 crore asset threshold face a materially higher bar. Notably, RBI's June 2026 Financial Stability Report flagged AI-enabled cyberattacks as the top risk ranked by surveyed banks and NBFCs — ahead of credit and funding risks — underlining why tested, audited continuity capability (not just a written plan) is now squarely a board-level concern, not just an IT function.

ISO 22301 doesn't replace RBI's or SEBI's specific BCP/DRP requirements, but it gives regulated entities — and the vendors and service providers who support them — an internationally recognised management system that structures exactly the tested continuity and recovery capability these regulators expect to see documented and demonstrated.

Critical: Only certificates issued by IAF-accredited bodies are genuinely valid for GeM, CPPP, and international procurement. India has thousands of fraudulent ISO bodies selling unaccredited certificates that are regularly rejected by compliance teams. London Cert is IAF-accredited.

Who Needs ISO 22301 Certification?

Banks, NBFCs, and payment system operators under RBI's cyber resilience and IT governance frameworks

IT companies, SaaS providers, and data centres whose outages directly disrupt client operations

Financial services firms with EU exposure, where the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) (in force since January 2025) mandates robust ICT incident response and continuity planning

US-linked companies, where SEC rules require material cybersecurity incidents to be disclosed on Form 8-K within four business days — a certified BCMS provides documented evidence behind that disclosure

Manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain businesses exposed to physical disruption risk

⚠️ Only a certificate carrying genuine IAF (International Accreditation Forum) accreditation is internationally recognised. London Cert Ltd conducts your full audit directly — we are not a paperwork-only reseller — and your certificate is issued with IAF accreditation through our accredited certification partner, verifiable at verify.londoncert.co.uk.

Why London Cert

Is London Cert a genuine, accredited ISO 22301:2019 Certification body?

India has a serious fake ISO body problem. Here's exactly why London Cert certificates are genuine, accepted globally, and legally valid.

  • IAF-Accredited Certificates via Our Partner BodyIAF (International Accreditation Forum) is the global peak body for certification accreditation. London Cert Ltd conducts your full audit directly, and your certificate is then issued with IAF accreditation through our accredited certification partner — accepted worldwide: GeM, CPPP, US federal procurement, EU suppliers, UAE clients, everywhere.
  • UK-Registered Third-Party Certification companyWe are NOT a consultancy. London Cert Ltd is registered in the United Kingdom as an independent certification company — the only entity legally authorised to issue internationally valid ISO certificates. We conduct the audit AND issue the certificate.
  • Valid for GeM, CPPP & All Government TendersHundreds of our clients have used our ISO 22301:2019 Certification certificates for GeM vendor registration, CPPP tenders, and state government portals — with a 100% acceptance rate. Fake certificates from non-IAF bodies are systematically rejected.

Cost & Pricing

ISO 22301:2019 Certification certification cost — transparent pricing

Fixed-price, all-inclusive packages. No hidden fees. No surprise invoices. The price you're quoted is the price you pay.

Why we don't publish exact prices: ISO 22301:2019 Certification certification cost depends on your specific company size, number of locations, number of employees, industry, and documentation complexity. A fixed published price would either overcharge small businesses or undercharge complex ones. Contact us for a personalised, binding quote within 24 hours — specific to your business.

What affects the cost?

Company Size

More employees = more audit time. Audit duration is directly tied to your employee count and the scope of operations being certified.

Number of Locations

Each additional location may require separate or extended audit time. Multi-site certifications are priced accordingly — contact us to discuss.

Industry Complexity

Simple service businesses have fewer process documents than complex manufacturing operations. Documentation scope directly affects cost.

Existing Documentation

If you already have some quality management processes documented, less preparation work is needed — which can reduce the overall cost.

Remote vs On-Site

Remote audits are available for all businesses and are typically more cost-effective. On-site audits are available for clients who need or prefer physical presence.

Why London Cert is cost-effective

We prepare ALL documents. You just review and approve.

Most certification companies require you to hire a separate consultant to prepare documentation — and then pay the certification company for the audit on top. London Cert does both. This integrated approach saves time and significantly reduces total cost.
